Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley

A story about a teenage boy by the name Collen Witter in Lily, Arkansas, a depressing town where life sucked and Gabriel, his beloved brother had gone missing. In the meantime, the whole town was so obsessed with the b/s story of a lost wookpecker. And yet another story of crazy religion people from the other side of the world that is somehow seems uncorrelated but converge together towards the end of the story.

I just love the writing style so much that I can keep listening to this book for hours and hours. It’s so captivating for unknown reason. The storylines also happened naturally, not forcing the characters to fit the plots. I also enjoy the open-endedness of the fiction that let to the readers’ own devices to interpret.

I wish I could write a fiction like this someday.
