I have always been fascinated by a wooden alarm clock for some mysterious reason. So I have to build it by myself.
Initially I tried to build a box to hold the machine but I realised that this would not be as good-looking because you will see seams around the clock body. To make a really nice wooden alarm clock you instead have to build the entire clock body from single piece of wood.
You can rely on router alone to create holes for the dials and the machine, but the router has to be working hard. Rather, use the fostner bit to take away the wood as much as possible, and use the router to do the rest of the work would be much easier.
And here we are, a nice looking wooden alarm clock.
